Alexi and I invite you to become a member of MarkerMaker as part of your membership with Southern Iowa Local Foods Initiative.
The Value Added Agriculture Program at Iowa State University Extension & Outreach in partnership with Southern Iowa Resource Conservation & Development has created a web based membership directory to help serve its local food membership. The directory is located on the Southern Iowa RC&D webpage under the Local Foods tab drop-down menu titled “Find Local Foods”.
The directory is a free service provided by MarketMaker Iowa. Your business can become part of a much larger directory of buyers and sellers. Market Maker is a national partnership of land grant institutions and State Departments of Agriculture dedicated to the development of a comprehensive interactive database of food industry marketing and business data. It is currently one of the most extensive collections of searchable food industry related data in the country. All the information can be mapped and queried by the user.
To register on MarketMaker, go to MarketMaker Iowa, click on Register and fill in the requested information. An email address is required for you to register but if you do not have email all Alexi and an alternative registration method will be used. Be sure to add the Southern Iowa Local Foods Initiative as an Affiliation during registering.
I want to thank Alexi Groumoutis, Local Food Coordinator for Southern Iowa Resource Conservation & Development for allowing Iowa State University Extension & Outreach to provide this valuable service.
Please call or email me if you have any questions.
